Though horkers are a tasty treat, I wouldn't eat them raw (they could be hosting parasites that are killed when grilled or stewed)

The parasites infesting Squirrel back home are called 'Wolves' for a reason. Why do you guys call (them) 'Horkers'?

Is there really enough on one to be worth the effort of prepping it? I figure once you have the fur off they'd be pretty small.

I haven’t said how many.

It’s really worth the time.

Yeah its funny, but eating them raw is kinda gross.

Seems like a good way to get worms or some type of food borne illness.

Eating any kind of rodent raw is a bad idea. They have short lifespans and a high reproduction rate for a reason. Their solution to disease is to live short enough that it doesn't matter. That doesn't work on a 70 year mammal. Enjoy decade long stretches of brain eating viruses.

Have you ever seen a squirrel run straight for a car tire? It's not like a brain eating virus would lower it's ability to survive that much anyway.
