That's some bullshit.

In my view it's another reason the government should not be involved in areas outside a limited charter.

One hand they should not have immunity, on the other it is ultimately the tax payer that is being sued.

Maybe they can remove raises to the university upper management and marketing department for 10 years to cover the cost.

You know if it was an RIAA or MPAA copyright the university would have been found guilty. I'm sick of a 2 tier justice system. Copyright is copyright and the university may not be able to be sued but the marketer they hired can be for willfully using the copyright materials. This is bullshit, they act like the government should have the right to break laws when ever they feel like it.
