the artice says

Isaiah Lee, 23, ran on stage at the show on Wednesday yielding the knife that was hidden inside a gun

What the fuck does that even mean. Ill typo with the best of them, but what the fucking does yeilding a knife mean in that context? Did she mean to say wielding? It matters a lot because if the dude just had a knife in his pocket and didnt use it in the attack, then I agree with the DA it wasnt a crazy hard hit, should just be a misdemeanor. If the guy attacked him with the knife but just fucked up and missed, that has to be felony at minimum, even attempted murder in context of who he was going after and when he chose to do it.

Well, I don't think you can yield a noun. You can yield to a noun, for example: "The attacker yielded to his intended target after being punched in the face a few times."

Pretty sure the moron who wrote this meant to say wield. This is NOT a typo- note how far the w and y keys are from each other.

Simply reading the sentence you provided, it sounds like a 23 year old ran on stage, WIELDING a gun with a knife somehow hidden inside of it. This makes no sense no matter how you reshuffle the sentence, it's gibberish. An English speaker can probably get some of the intended meaning from it, but the person who wrote this is supposed to be a professional journalist, right?

Why was I more professional as my high school's newspaper editor than this grown adult working for the fucking daily mail?

It gets worse, the journalist is even more of a moron because it's not a knife that was inside a gun, it's a knife with a gun-shaped grip.

jewTuber commenter called it a "trans gunife" weapon. My sides....

In a spur of the moment defensive situation, something that looks like a gun is going to get treated like a gun. Having a gun looking thing in your hand (not sure if it was in his hand) is going to get a much stronger reaction than just a knife.

I fail to see how the shape of the knife's grip is a relevant detail in this story. Who-What-When-Where-Why: this is basic journalism.

Who: some insane 23 year old and Dave Chappelle. What: An attack on stage. When: Idk, the other night? Where: Idk, some fucking comedy club? Why: Because niggers.

Literally nothing else should be reported on, except perhaps the attacker's criminal history. It doesn't matter if the knife was shaped like a dildo, it's just a knife and that's all that truly matters- a sharp piece of metal meant to take a life.

Just because I love to argue. Yeilding is a thing. "Hey undertheshills why is that car stopped in the merge lane?" Said BloodyComet "Because that faggot is yielding when he should be merging" undertheshills replied.

Right, but you don't yield a noun. You yield to a noun. The faggot is yielding to undertheshills (pronoun in this case) when he should be merging.

The speaker is yielding the floor- to the other congressmen.
