I don't disagree, but I don't think we live in a vacuum. if the US gets involved in a civil war, or some sort of internal conflict, then China will go on the offensive and grow their territory and power. Then, China will be the top dog, and we will be continually pushed further down the toilet until they finally invade and take us over. We need action now from our "leaders", or we will be forever lost (barring an act of God).
Most of the civil war will be about which territories gain control of the nukes. The reality is the south china arena is already completely lost to the US. Our fleets while good at projecting power over small third world countries will all be sunk nearly immediately in that area and there is no hope of winning any ground war there. China will have its hands full with India and a few others for decades and i doubt they will be able to spend any hardware or resources on sending stuff over to this side of the pacific in that time frame. The military hardware we have now is going to be found essentially useless to countering them anyway and North America needs 25 years to rebuild its manufacturing base and start manufacturing weapons that will actually be relevant in any kind of future war defensive scenario against a large power. The worst action that could be taken right now is to continue pretending like the US government is at all relevant because the only way the Chinese can win here domestically in the US is for us to be taken over from the inside out without a shot being fired. They wont land troops here because North america will turn into an order of magnitude worse than Afgahnistan was for the US government. So their only real option is take over government with spies and traitors and turn it against its own constituents and use it to proctor control here while they gain power in those other parts of the world. At this point im confident the only way to prevent that is the destruction of the federal government.

This is already being done.
I don't think I am as pessimistic as you are about the "destruction of the federal government", but I do realize it would be a ton of hard work and battles for years (possibly decades) to right this sinking ship. Decent leadership would be necessary as well, which we are currently lacking (Trump in office or not).
At this point i think the spies are embedded so deep and the elections are so far gone they will never allow any meaningful reform to come from within the system. The best bet is for individual states to start disconnecting from the federal system entirely and just ignoring everything they mandate. Going Galt on a state level. But if that starts happening the fed will use force and it will be a civil/revolutionary war.
