I'm wondering how generators are going to work in California after the small engine ban. Perhaps a battery will spin a dynamotor that produces AC. Then they can use that to charge a Tesla.
Yeah, everybody's scratching their head about that. Leaf blowers, weed wackers, ok, but generators. Um, dude.
The irony is all those electric devices really run on coal.
Not so much in California. The average power mix in California is only 2.74% coal (energy.ca.gov).

I read about that. It's the stupidest shit I've ever heard. I don't think they did the research on just how many things use small engines and how many businesses depend on them.
