Lol, I always forget the rule it’s whom if it’s for him/her and who for he/she. Unfortunately, if you get it right and use “whom” properly you can come across as pretentious, “oh look at you, someone paid attention during grammar lessons, la de da!”
Easy way: replace the who/whom with a he/him, and see which one. Then use "whom" if you used "him". Even if you have to juggle the sentence a bit. If it's a question with who/whom, answer it (with he/him) and then stick "whom" in if you answered with "him".
Its quite amazing, how they turned "being well spoken, and knowing thy language" into "look at that fucking knowitall. Lol whata fag!"
