I mean im not a huge nirvana fan but spoon isnt really in the same lane. a good comparison for spoon in nirvanas era would be a band like blind melon.

Agree, so were Pavement, Meatpuppets, Screaming Trees, and many others of that era.

Yeah, there were definitely better punk bands out there to be sure. A lot of the groups from that era changed their sound in order to get and remain on the charts though.
