You'd think that they'd take advantage of the politics and blame it where it belongs, on the neocons such as George W. Bush... or even go back further and blame it on Reagan. Under his administration, the CIA supported the Mujahadin "freedom fighters" in a war between the Soviet Union and Afghanistan... which was really another one of a series of proxy wars between the US and the USSR. The Mujahadin was led by... you guessed it, Osama Bin Laden. We supported him. Gave him money. Gave him heavy duty weapons. Then we pulled out and left him hanging, and he became embittered against the US. That decision directly led to Al Qaeda and 9/11. Al Qaeda morphed into ISIS and the Taliban. All of the instability in that region is directly our fault. We should have never gotten involved there in the first place. I'm frankly surprised that they aren't trying to get more mileage out of this.
