We need to spend as much as possible, both building nations and starting wars to collapse them, both manufacturing crises and sloppily fixing them and then printing/borrowing for more, more, more! That way our our politicians get to take a slice of an ever expanding pie and can become rich like kings and queens. Who fucking cares if it results in the Taliban riding around in a fucking U.S. tank? They got theirs before the whole system inevitably crashes down, that's what really matters, anyway.
