there are tons of airports here i doubt he paid anything for the ride he probably knows the guy that owns it. if you call one of the small air ports they will take you for a ride cheap. i think they called it an introduction to flight when i did it. it was under 200$ though and we flew all over. the guy seemed happy he got to fly and someone else was paying for fuel.

I was thinking that too -- he even says "elitist" while walking to the helicopter, haha -- but he was the pilot (or pretending to be). Maybe he was adding to the machismo image? Besides, I have a middle-class friend that used to fly Cessna planes on occasion.
