You can appeal to my humanity, and at the end of the day, of course I will be furious if that was to happen to my mother. But, as much as I would want to wish the blame could solely lie on the perpetrator, I am acutely aware of how the victim is picked.
Also, every situation is entirely individualistic. The law of the jungle, however, prevails everytime. Do you weep for a deer that gets killed by a tiger? Why not?
And again, live long enough and your mortality rate reaches 100%. You almost sound like the covid maskers telling people "do you want to kill your grandmother?".
