Small landlords were hit very hard by this. Which is, of course, the purpose. Destroy the middle class. Makes less resistance to communism.
They did get payments and maybe should have used a bit of that to pay the landlord as a token of good faith. There were also lots of jobs that needed filling. Don't give them an out or an excuse
I understand about 1 year ago, when everything is shut down. This year, there is a worker shortage.
It is not a worker shortage, it is a compensation shortage. That and a push for more immigrant workers.
I think I agree with you. However, I would disagree that people should be able to live indefinitely for free. I'm not saying you are saying that; I'm saying that's the implication of an eternal rent moratorium.
