Maybe they should have paid their rent

Know someone who lives in an apartment. Their neighbor is Hispanic. Neighbor works steady and their income was never interrupted. They simply stopped paying rent.

When asked what they'll do after it's over and the are evicted, they said they didn't care because as a "minority" someone will be forced to accept them.

A lot of renters were deemed non essential

What about business owners and their mortgages

Small landlords were hit very hard by this. Which is, of course, the purpose. Destroy the middle class. Makes less resistance to communism.

They did get payments and maybe should have used a bit of that to pay the landlord as a token of good faith. There were also lots of jobs that needed filling. Don't give them an out or an excuse

I understand about 1 year ago, when everything is shut down. This year, there is a worker shortage.

[–] 0 pt

It is not a worker shortage, it is a compensation shortage. That and a push for more immigrant workers.

Who would have thought that telling a bunch of lefties that they wouldn't have to pay rent for a year, then suddenly telling them they would, would result in a bunch of evictions?

Yeah dude I know people who just quit paying rent, prioritizing everything else rather than paying landlord. Now the state is paying the landlord all outstanding rent and months into the future, will be interesting to see what happens once the rent becomes due again come November.

Of course it was the state who is at fault for decimating the economy so they should pay but it should scare everyone that this much cash is being dumped like gasoline into this dumpster fire of an economy.

Most people are willing to be unemployed riding the free covid gravy train purposely not getting another job (we are under employed still). So zero empathy for those getting kicked out for not wanting to pay their rent.

They're not ending the moratorium. Having to rent to deadbeats is the new normal.

[–] 0 pt

Yep. And here I am paying a mortgage like a sap.

Just sell your house to blackrock for 200k above market price.

[–] 0 pt

guess they need vaccinated?

[–] 0 pt

No they stopped paying when the moratorium started.

It's not the renters that have problems. Once evicted, they can just go to the next rental. It's the mortgage holder on that rental property. They are out a years rental income.

[–] 0 pt

I would rather be out a year of income than having dead weight still occupying my rental.

[–] 0 pt

You can't kick them out, and once you can, and do, their replacement will be just some dude someone else kicked out of their rental.

Background and credit check for the win.

[–] 0 pt

probably not paying because covid killed at least 60% of the population.. right?

[–] 0 pt

lol, they started a rental and mortgage assitance program, so the taxpayers (and anyone using dollars thru inflation tax) will now pay their rent!!

[–] 0 pt

Nah, they're just being freed from an obviously unmanageable financial situation, in order to make way for a more responsible family. Fck is wrong with these leeches, lol ??? ...
