I was mad that trump won. I believed the hype about the stolen election and the Russia collusion.
But the last 2 years I saw a distinct change. I've never been a "leftist", I've always followed my own sense of right and wrong. Trying to discuss things went from discussion to dismissal. Leftists won't even discuss contrary ideas. They won't acknowledge facts. They just shut down and continue believing their own bullshit because they are told to.
The blatant transparency of the last 18 months. The REAL stolen election. The covid propaganda. The absolute nonsensical state of the media. It's plain for anyone to see, but they refuse.
Right wing people will discuss things. They question things. That's potential for growth and understanding. Dismissal is not.

Have you experienced the dissapointment of becoming a crazy racist nazi that I have? I look around and i don't see any crazy or even racist people. I only see a bunch of nice people struggling to understand the world survive.
I mean, there are crazy and there are racist people on both sides.
You will get a section of any ideology who aren't smart enough to critically think, so they can't learn or grow. They only latch onto a thought and run with it because they are oblivious to the rest of the world.
Then you have the vast majority of people who just want something to be able to point a finger at so they can excuse all the self inflicted failings of their own miserable lives. Its easier that way.
Both detract from the real issues and both will drag you down to their level.
That is really interesting that both you and were really recent leftists. I was a long time republitard. I thought I was pretty right wing but “not like those Nazis, they’re crazy.” I knew that most jews were a pack of dirty commies but when I started using Voat I really had no idea how far down the rabbit hole went. Im just so glad my eyes are open.
