I'm a woman in a male-dominated field and it's the opposite, everyone acts very gingerly. I'm the only person who doesn't have a nickname. If someone says "hey guys," they nervously add "and gals." I don't care - "you guys" has always meant "you all," I can't believe how sensitive the gender police are right now.
We have a very weird culture at the moment, it's not really about equality. It's about payback against successful people or something. The weird whiteness trainings and assaults on Asians have got to stop. If people's lives aren't working out the way they want, they have a lot of control over that. Mad about Asians? Well, they went to med school or became engineers. Did you? Mad about white guys? Yeah, some of them suck. But companies now specifically look for other perspectives because they want to reach the whole market. It CAN be you, if you hustle and do the training and show up everyday. Stop being a victim!
