I don't deny the fact that there were feds at the protest (of course there were; they are in any crowd above 10000, and this was in DC). However I don't think this guy was one of them. He's legit, as weird as he may be.
The bigger problem at hand is that internet discourse has trained all of you to think only in super-short-term benefit and to worship weakness. The result? You bite those who actually put their neck on the line for your freedom, while defending the man who had 4 years to make arrests and failed to make a single one.
