"hording" physical currency was blamed in the 20's when "not enough dollars in the system" was a reason they gave jews control to print at will. Pretty hard to bury jars of cash in the backyard/fields or stuff mattresses when they don't exist. One delete "keystroke" could wipe out trillions and the impacts would be felt everywhere, instant world genocide for all participants. (which is why gold backed currencies, controlled BY the government, and free of borrowing) is our only endgame. Anything less is submission to permanent / eternal enslavement
