Is she? The article is full of weasel words. The part about how exactly the jogger ended up pushing the father down isn't actually attributed to anyone in particular.
The article says they were struggling. That doesn't happen unless the father is attacked.

I meant it's unclear that the daughter is the one who came up with the bullshit about her peaceful dindu boyfriend calmly and apologetically trying to defend her. She might have and she might be willing to testify to that effect, but I'm willing to bet it was the prosecutor invented it and fed that line to the papers. That's why they're quoting that part as "reportedly" and "is said to have" rather than actually specifying a source.
They did the same thing in the Trayvon Martin case, completely inventing a scenario from whole cloth with no witnesses to back it up, then preaching it as truth to the press for months until that's all anyone believed.
