I have little doubt those who do get it will survive. At least some. Nanobots can and almost certainly will open a level of enslavement like the world has never seen before. Its at the point where the entire planet could be thoroughly messed with and perhaps never know or even care if it did. Thats just from gene mods and messing with body chemistry properly. If they ever manage to subject the public to nanobots that can directly modify the brain in an intentional manner we are royally screwed. (A none to far future assuming it isnt here already.) All in all nanobots are not something the human race is mature enough to have.
