You are correct, it is a common cold type.
I'm using the flu as a point of reference. For severity and long term impact, that's what it will be for about 20 years.
But a common feature of coronavirus' is they tend to rapidly follow the rule that (and please give me the name if you remember it for this because it's escaping me and that bothers me) virulence declines with time as higher virulence strains tend to spread less efficiently, while low virulence strains spread fast and provide immunity against higher virulence strains.
End result is that this will naturally go away no matter what in under a decade functionally if we let it.
