If me and my buddies are trapped in a room with a rabid tiger, none of us are allowed to pursue happiness.
Semantics. Might as well state that we have the rights to seek contentment and satisfaction. We do. We have the rights to do just about anything that doesn't directly infringe on the rights of someone else. That is a God-given right, granted through our physicality and mentality as instruments of our will. If I want to paint my body blue and dance around, that's my right to do so. As long as I have unchained hands and an unfettered mind, I do what I will. Why else would I have been given these gifts by my Creator, if not to use them?
That isn't in scripture. its part of rationalism, my rights and morality are what I say they are.
William Blake wrote about Orc, the spirit of revolution who said "best murder a baby in a cradle than nurse unacted desires"
A bit extreme and not really what OP says though.
Our liberty has already been under siege and been drastically reduced. Our lives are about to be "contact traced" and "guilt by association" doxxed into oblivion. The pursuit of happiness is next! In (((their))) dismantling of our Constitution and Nation, removing those three, (life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness), is what can be expected.
