He calls out a bunch of stuff including the virus being a weapon not an accident.
Just because he says things that you like to hear, that reaffirms your confirmation bias, doesn't mean he's trustworthy.
There have been many instances of Generals being less spoiled by politics. But it's fully possible that you're right.
