Did they really plant bombs though?
I keep hearing "suspected pipe bombs" and "pipes with wires". That and the fact they were left around and did not go off make them seem like fakes.

I've read po statements saying they were operable/real devices. One guy was carrying stuff to make 11 of them. Might have gotten more attention if they had used them, but then they would automatically become antifa plants.
