JewTube is harder as not everyone that I watch is on other platforms yet. And then there's platforms like Rumble that want a cell phone number to leave a comment. I get wanting a phone number for monetary reasons, but I shouldn't have to give a cell phone number to leave a comment.
The phone number requirement is for anti-spam.
They just want your identity as always. Same reason every other site asks for a phone number. Same reason why email accounts tend to demand one too.
Your choice to believe that, I don't. a customer had spam problems on their forum and it ground to nearly a halt when we instituted phone verification for them.
