It was to identify active patriots who will act. Then to utterly demoralize them yet again in a massive public fashion. Then have their 'leader' tell them to go home like bad kids. to sum things up:

Anyone supporting the Constitution is outed, tracked, filed and identified. Even ranked according to their ability/willingness to take action.

When DC and 'Rico become states there will never be a purpose to have an election again. Red govenors will be killed or supressed/defunded. Travel between states is going to end. Lines will be drawn. Those on the wrong side of the lines will be murdered. Foreign nations are going to swarm us and our military will bring them here under escort to make sure they are safe. A few low ranking troops may gripe about this but they will simply be shot. The rest will comply.
