So far his state of health is stable, although family members said that he even presented seizures and paralysis in his limbs.

It was on December 30 that the doctor applied the vaccine like hundreds of colleagues to protect herself from the coronavirus before her work at the forefront of the pandemic, however 12 hours later she began to present adverse symptoms.

"Adverse effects: paralysis of the arms and legs, in addition to frequent seizures. Please she is serious, she was providing help in this pandemic, we can't leave her alone, she needs help," says the publication of relatives.

The information indicated that Pérez Osorio was evaluated by a neurologist and was detected transverse myelitis, so hours later it was determined to transfer her to the High Specialty Medical Unit No. 25 of the IMSS, in Monterrey, Nuevo León.

The family clarified that it is not about causing panic about the vaccine but about seeking help for Karla Photo: (Facebook screenshot) The family clarified that it is not about causing panic about the vaccine but about seeking help for Karla Photo: (Facebook screenshot) In the case, the IMSS announced in a statement that the transfer of the doctor to Monterrey was for safety reasons and that her state of health is good, so only the protocol of follow-up and third-level care is followed.

"The #IMSSCoahuila reports that after the application of the #VaccinaCOVID19, a doctor from HGZ No. 7 of #Monclova presented an adverse reaction and for safety she was transferred to a UMAE in Nuevo León for follow-up; her health condition is good, it is FALSE that she has been intubated."

However, family members maintain that the doctor's state of health is reserved.

The internist doctor from Orizaba, Karla Cecilia Pérez Osorio, was the first doctor in the country to present a serious negative reaction to the Pfizer vaccine that began to be applied in Coahuila.

One of her cousins asked the IMSS director, Zoe Robledo, for support on Facebook through social networks so that the doctor was treated correctly. It transpired that she was transferred to the High Medical Specialty Unit # 25 of Monterrey for better care. The relative declared that they do not seek to discredit the vaccine or the IMSS, which only wanted to spread its request for help.

"You have a history of allergy to Trimetroprim": SS

On the night of Friday, January 1, the Ministry of Health issued a statement explaining the evolution of the doctor.

He detailed that he presented skin rash, seizures, decreased muscle strength and breathing difficulty, in the next half hour after application. The reaction was detected within the specific observation area of the vaccination cell in which the doctor received her vaccine.

infobae-image In this regard, "the Secretariat announces that it is already studying the case to know the direct cause of the picture presented by the doctor. The initial diagnosis is encephalomyelitis under study, it is reported stable, without the presence of seizures in the last hours."

The doctor has a history of allergy to Trimetroprim with sulfamethoxazole, which can cause serious symptoms and even death and is characterized, among other things, by skin rashes, angioedema and anaphylactic reaction.

With the available scientific evidence from clinical trials of the Pfizer-BioNTech BNT162b2 vaccine against the SARS-CoV-2 virus, no person had previously presented encephalitis after the application of the vaccine.

Health authorities represented by the General Directorate of Epidemiology and the National Center for Child and Adolescent Health (Censia) are investigating the case together with the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), under the ESAVI protocol: Events Supposedly Attributable to Vaccination and Immunization, established by the Federal Commission for Protection against Health Risks (Cofepris).

The doctor is under observation and treatment by specialists in critical medicine to decrease the brain inflammation presented. Intensive specialized treatment based on steroids and anticonvulsants will continue to decrease the risk of sequelae.
