i know that there has been cause to distrust others even before recorded history, but stuff is really this bad, isn't it? and that's a shame because it keeps the groups that need to form unformed.

Yeah, we're transitioning from a high-trust society to a medium-trust. As "diversity" continues, we'll eventually transition to a low-trust society.
i think a lot about trust when going down a high-speed road with no median. surprised the number of head-on collisions aren't higher.

In the road example, you don't have to rely on trust, because you can rely on incentive, or disincentive.
