They also fail to mention: 1) ICU util % is always high this time of year because...wait for it....flu season. 2) It is not profitable for a hospital to run low util ICU and thus the baseline is 50-75% depending. 3) Hospitals are legally required to be able to burst capacity to 150-200% via tents so 100% may just mean that they had to set up the tents (again). Also, I had to go to a hospital e-room in CA last week. One in a purple zone with "0%"...they mobbed me for something to do.
