ooooooo what a lucky man he was..
It's terrible to know that the second variation of ELP (Emerson, Lake and Powell) is completely gone now. First losing Cozy Powell to a car accident, then Keith Emerson to suicide and finally Greg Lake to cancer- one of my favorite three-piece progressive bands is totally gone forever. The most tragic part of that loss is of course Keith Emerson's suicide. He was a giant in the world of synthesized sound and he left a huge void that will never be filled. Though he was a Korg and Moog guy mostly and I'm not sure if he ever owned a DX7, he could make any synthesizer do amazing things with his talent. RIP, Keith. You are sorely missed by your fans.
I'm not near as versed on them as you. I just remember being blown away (like when I heard Good Vibrations first time) when I first heard that song and began to query what that 'instrument' was. Amazing.
Trying to remember if I ever saw them live, it would have been in the mid seventies.
How sad, I'd only heard a little bit about the deaths etc. reminds me of Badfinger.
