Minks, weasels, ferrets all have an immune system really similar to humans and they are used alot to study human disease. I guess it isn’t surprising that a mink could get covid, but they probably should have euthanized the infected farm. Weasels are sneaky, they escape, and then you have a nasty virus killing off native mink and weasel populations and maybe jumping species to racoons or skunks or some shit.
I suppose this “farm” could have been a lab if you are very conspiratorially minded.

Luckily, in this case they just have a mostly entirely harmless virus most likely killing no mink and weasel populations whatsoever. Except for perhaps the very oldest and fattest and stupidest of the weasels.
