This is true for men and for women both. I told my nephew in college and for his first jobs, try to get a man as your instructor and supervisors. I told him that at least 80% of women will be terrible professors and supervisors with an oversized chip on the shoulder trying to prove themselves by lording it over people, being manipulative, gossipy, micromanaging etc. In contrast at least 80% of men in professor or supervisor positions will stick with business only minus the crap. As he worked his way through, he saw this for himself.
