Can somebody explain, in scientific terms how they're detecting this "new strain"? What distinguishes it from the "regular" strain genetically speaking? If it doesn't make people more ill, what flags a regular test to be tested for the new strain? How are they able to test and confirm the presence of a new strain of virus in a matter of a couple of weeks?
