I suspect you are exactly correct. I don't see how it's WalMart's job to verify anything but that the doctor writing the script is legit.

I have no love for Walmart, but they, (at least in my town), follow the rules. You have to sign for "Scheduled" drugs. And to get them, the pharmacist has to hand it to you, not the cashier. This suit is all about deep pockets and giving the Sackler family a pass.

I do know the pretense, not an idiot. liquor stores and bars are in a different league. liquor stores are salesmen, bartenders are "enablers" , you carry the product home rather than serve it to someone. creeping slowly toward prohibition with laws than punish capitalism. personal responsibility will become nonexistent. everyone gets a ribbon mentality.
