This is the end result of marxist ideology. Segregating people into categories leads to a focus on the collective instead of the individual. They're not thinking about how that truck could be the only thing keeping that man and his kids alive, they only see that he's in the "other" category so IT must be destroyed. They're dehumanizing people by putting them into groups and then demonizing those groups.
