I've been there. I've met many of them, shopped in their shops, eaten in their restaurants. And I studied the history of the region. When the Islamic conquest went through there, a lot of folks were already living there. They were converted to Islam, not exterminated. Arabs mixed with them, but they do not look like the real Arabs in Arabia. Seen them also.
Now, we call ourselves Americans, but we are largely of European descent. So, my non-Cherokee friends, if WE are Americans because we say so, then anybody is whatever he says he is. Why should we have a problem with this?
