Thing is, art is ruined the moment its main purpose is to make money I'm not saying making money out of it is a bad thing in itself, btw What's trully important, in art? The path you took to end up with the final result, what you've been through, not the final result in itself And that, isn't something you can touch or sell or really share with words. It's like a prayer and your relationship with god, this can't be sold. It's not even intended to be sold to begin with. That's what is art. No wonder it turns to non sensical shit when one tries to turn it into a for profit operation. It's like trying to make a turtle fly, it's not made for that, it's unnatural to even try, doesn't make sense take a bird instead Now what usually get sold from art, are the means of art (tools), and the technical skills you accumulated through practice, that you then use to serve industrial needs, such as, idk, page setup/layout for magazines and shit, visual compositions etc But that's not art. It's to art what mcdonald's is to gastronomy There's that spiritual root with art, that we have completely lost in the west, totally eclypsed by materialism, the merchants won Now it's like a christianity run by atheists with no1 believing in god, or a jedi order with no jedi capable of using the force, it's total non sense, it's dead, it's bankrupt. And that's exactly what we see btw. A bankrupt idea. That's what art has become, that's what modern art is.
