Look, I hope the person or people who raped and killed this girl have their nuts pulled off and are left to bleed to death, but this sounds a bit off to me asking 900 people to volunteer DNA. Why should we trust them?

DNA isn't so accurate at identifying people, so this is a witch hunt and some poor slob will be pinned with a false charge and no defense due to brainwashing over the certainty of dna evidence.

The 900 men, who were between 14 and 70 at the time of Ruf's killing, were asked to have a saliva swab test to have their DNA identified.
That’s a hole lot of adult male DNA.
While it is unlikely the murderer will take the test, investigators hope a relative will and through their results link the DNA on Claudia's body to the perpetrator.
Pretty well admitting there’s not much chance they’ll find him just maybe the family.
The new push comes after investigators in 2010 tested 350 men's DNA in the area, but got no matches.
Tried in 2010 with a group 1/3 the size and it didn’t work.
Police did not say if any of the 350 men previously tested were part of the new group of 900 men
In total now over a thousand DNA profiles on adult males.
Police said after the tests have been taken all DNA that does not come up as a match in the genetic analysis will be deleted.
