This is why we need public whippings.
I agree about the whippings, but not for this case.
Why not? He didn't physically hurt anyone. It was portrayed as tragic that this former marine was addicted to pills from an accident.
Nobody got hurt, not even a little bit. I think whippings are appropriate when there's violence, but not otherwise.
