Resistance is futile.

From the post:

>Neuralink has been quietly increasing the number of patients with its N1 brain implant. According to the Barrow Neurological Institute, seven people have now received one. The implant allows those with cervical spinal cord injuries or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) to control a computer with their thoughts. In a February 2025 update, Neuralink confirmed that three people had received its brain-computer interface (BCI). That increased to five by June, when it also reported a $650 million funding round. We're now at seven, Barrow tweeted today; Neuralink retweeted that message.

So, it's function is to allow you to use a fucking computer or some shit like that? I get that's a big deal but, how about moving, walking and swallowing and tying your shoes or writing your name with a pen?

Sheeit, there's all sorts of nightmarish scenarios that come up with this sort of limited interface.

Yeah, I believe that is the eventual intent. Apparently they are working on some sort of pack that could be attached to your spinal cord past a "break" that would take the signals and enhance/redrive them. Who knows how far away they are from that though. Probably a while at best.

Oh, also the intent is for controlling robotic limbs as well. Think of how many amazon warehouse robots you could control if you just had to think to do it /s.

7?? That’s amazing. I can still do things for myself.

My brain has a 10-bit parallel interface with the piano.
