From the post:

>Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday signed a law banning excessively loud advertisements on streaming platforms like Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime that could become a de facto national standard. The new California law is aimed at addressing what the Federal Communications Commission has called a “troubling jump” in TV ad noise complaints, fueled by streamers airing commercials louder than the shows and movies they accompany. It’s modeled off a federal law passed in 2010 that caps ad volumes on cable and broadcast TV, but doesn’t apply to streaming services.

Too little, too late. After unplugging for years, advertising seems like a different universe. One with 40% are mixed race couples.

I hate traveling. It's the only time I ever turn on a tv with "cable". Usually because the wifi is so shit I can't stream from my home server. I always take plenty of media with me to watch but sometimes you want to watch something you didn't bring.

Well, then you turn on the idiot box and in 20 minutes you give up and turn it off again. I always have a book with me but again, sometimes you just don't feel like it and want to be lazy. I assume you get it.

I will never have something like cable again. With how streaming is going its just "new cable" and I am not up for that and have no interest.

I do get it. A few times a year meet up with family. The talmuldvision goes on and you catch a glimpse of what is the 'boomer diet'
