I'm not even sure how though. He was curled up under the roots of a fallen tree, about 100 yards from a campground.

Wild animals and homeless animals have an unbelievably difficult life. Trying to stay warm, find food, raise babies; not be killed by humans or eaten by something bigger than they are; infections, infestations...not easy.
