That mainly happened during the wartime tensions. It's hard to be kind and flattering to your enemies, even if they're of the same race. Besides, the jews were busy flooding countries with Slavs (or more likely ''''Slavs'''' on paper only) at the time, and we all know the quality of the hordes they tend to send.
