How did they all agree to go in that direction at some point? Or at least, gave the impression that everybody was pretty much on board with the program, what was the "sensible narrative" justifying all that post wwII shit? Dominating peons and other nefarious aims aside

Without a one world government, what you have is everybody competing for world dominance, since "forever", which usually ended up with a global conflict, so they wanted to avoid that, and they came up with a plan

At least on the surface, I think that's how the whole idea got sold to everybody from left to right, pacifists included... Like it's going to be different this time...

Of course many got on board because it was convenient and many just went along with the program thinking they couldn't do shit about it anyways. And those who opposed it, well they got fucked

...

Now what "we" can see today I think, is that only klaus schwab and the wef clique really want that one world gov, the US is obviously throwing the EU under the bus as a last ditch effort to preserve what's left of its former world dominance, with the help of EU's useful idiots of course, that goes without saying. And at the same time russia and china are also saying fuck it, they're back to their default position, no more one world government bandwagon, they aren't even trying to play pretend anymore

Several books and articles and videos out about this, the breakup of globalization.

Dr. Steve Turley talks about it a lot (youtube), and Peter Zeihan has a good book about it, also Luke Gromen.

Sweden, that Orban guy, Italy, USA, Russia, and more, changing.
