As with all conspiracies a few actual bad grains of rice don't ruin the whole 50 lb bag, and it still feeds you. If they tried so hard to use Rock as a psy-op they were a miserable failure with me and millions of others. In a lot of ways the 60's weren't that much different than today, even through a drug-addled haze I did and still hate commies, faggots, and politicians. My values haven't changed much even with the explosion of information we now have. The bottom line for me is that I still enjoy the music for what it was without having to analyze every word of lyrics. Many times the sound of the lyrics, as another component of the music, means as much as whatever message the words mean. There is value I would think in a technical appreciation of musicianship but that doesn't deny the emotional pleasure of the songs.
