Never has a song made me so happy for times past, and so sad that those times are gone
This is one of my favorite bands of all time. They released another album in like 2012. The guitarist has recently passed away. The singer Hope Sandoval has numerous solo albums with the most recent in 2016. She's a legend. Here's something off her 2016 album I really like:
That's eerie and beautiful. A minor-blues with odd chord changes. Some Peter Green level guitar playing.
Before Fleetwood he wrote this in 1967.
Classic Fleetwood Mac reference. Nice.
Here's something off their 2012 album I find to be a classic. Has some soft meandering guitar swirls.
Thanks for posting this.
She reminds me of the group Beach House. Check them out. This instantly made me think of them.
I will definitely check them out! I think I have heard the name but havent dived into anything. Whenever I find a new artist I typically put them into last.fm and see what other music nerds listen to the most.

Thats their top played....often times with super popular bands the top 2-3 are going to be those "mainstream studio bangers" they make to make money but usually good stuff in the top 10.
last.fm also does a pretty good job of showing you similar artists. I've been using it since 2006 and highly recommend it to all audiophiles.
heres a bonus Mazzy track off their final album just for you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9owE8Z2roBg
They're basically psychedelic dream pop electro.
Great tune/ performance. Always chuckled at the expression of the dyke bassist, and super-serious tambourine playing by the percussionist
All the tambourine on the albums was by Hope
As emo as it gets and oddly hypnotic
Shoegaze with emo overtones. 'I'm Sailin' is oddly upbeat https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VPLMkb4U7g
Nice. Delta blues in an echo stairway.
Listening to Mazzy Star's first CD while coming off a bad acid trip = unforgettable
Nice man. I had a bad acid trip one time too. Was about 15. Sat in a Dunkin Donuts near my parents house for nearly the whole day. Then knew I had to sleep so walked home and tried to sleep but couldn't. Just laid there another 12 hours and my mom asked me to come out for dinner. What a disaster.
I had very loud machine noises in my head for hours, like a truck going uphill in first gear...I juss listened to the CD over and over til I finally was able to sleep. Before that, I thought the house was on fire, and lightning was striking all around me. Southern Comfort and acid really don't mix.
In a nod to Coincidence/Entrainment/Campbellian Follow-Your-Blissness, I decided to be and did learn to strum and sing this tune 3 days ago. Good stuff!
THE song of my teens
