I would do that to locate my luggage later because the scum bags probably toss it in a dumpster somewhere. To keep yourself out of a foreign jail you should pull out your phone and record a video of your bag with the tag on it and you handing it over to your airline’s staff. Make sure to get a clear shot of both the bag and the tag showing the label. The woman who was jailed in the Philippines was eventually exonerated by Toronto airport security camera footage showing her tagging and handing over her actual bag. If she had a close up shot of that on her phone she probably could have kept herself out of jail entirely. It’s ridiculous that you need to know this to travel safely, but this is the world we live in when we share it with corrupt races.
