What does this say about the value of that "currency"?

I probably owe 100 Poalbucks by now but I would say that giving one Mugback to repay that debt would be too much.

Where is the exchange rate ceiling? Would you give one of your Mugbacks for 100 Poalbucks? 1,000? 1,000,000?

Oh, not a crock at all. The hallowed Mugback is tied to real value i.e. the confidence among the general populace that it has value. It used to be exchangeable for one Poal mug, but we found that that monetary policy was deflationary and freeing the currency from such restraints would help everyone to become much richer. @AOU, @PMYB2 and @Owlchemy are the evil pioneers of the competing currency, Poalbucks, which is a sham because they make up the value as they go.

so first came the Poalbuck, then the Mugback which can no longer be exchanged for Poal Mugs. think i got it. which is to say i've got nothing.

Mugback was the first actually. Admins made Poalbucks once they saw how rich and influential Mugback investors became.
