Not fantastic but for fairly recent movies they weren't bad. Entertaining enough.

Watch Night of the Hunter for the story and skill of black and white film (1955)

The Boston Strangler (1968) for the beauty of the set design and Tony Curtis actually acting. His crazy is skillful.

They are classics. I've seen both. 'Night of the Hunter' the most recently. Your remarks about each are on point.

Thanks. Costume and set design, especially during the golden age of technicolor can make or break a film.

The 1950's film "Auntie Mame" (full of jewy double entendre) same.

OTOH, I really like the film Slingblade and most people find it boring and stupid.

I like the way you talk

Slingblade has been a favorite of mine since I first saw it about 25yrs ago.

I see now that it is marinated in left wing propaganda. But I can still watch it and appreciate it. It's far from boring or stupid.
