LOL! A woman commander? In 1970? We'll wait for 1970 but that'll never happen. This really IS science fiction!
I am noticing stuff like that too in these old movies. The woman empowerment, UN world government and hippie utopia crap with rainbow drug trips put in them in space travel. They have really been at this for a long time.
I made that comment before I finished the movie but there was a woman President at the end. But the idea of using a marooned crew to start a moon base was kinda interesting. I did some research into this film and found out it was filmed in 10 days and people today think it's sexist towards women but I didn't get that from it. I saw it as a film that ended somewhat on traditional gender roles.
