Homophobia isn't a real thing. Disgust is not fear .

Just like fatphobia or transphobia or any of the rest of the bullshit made up terms. I'm not scared. It's just gross and incorrect, as you said, disgusting.

Correct, and your common sense understanding of such a simple concept is an example of why I appreciate this site.

I said something similar in another post about this exact subject:

I’ve always taken issue with the descriptor “homophobia” as it implies fear is the motivating factor while completely ignoring the more obvious and simple culprit: disgust.

I think fags are gross for the same reason I think poop is gross.

When I take a shit, I don’t immediately run away from the toilet in terror of my excrement…because I’m not “afraid” of the shit..I don’t want to play with it or otherwise treat it like play dough or sculpting clay simply because I’m disgusted by it.

Fags are trying to essentially make the argument that because I don’t want to play with shit, I must be “afraid” of it. No, stupid faggots..I simply am disgusted by it..as any normal person should be.

Silly faggots.

STORY, then stars = box office $.

If the story isn’t compelling, stars in the movie still won’t save it.

Compelling story without stars, just competent actors, can still get great box office.

If you’re lucky enough to have a compelling story, with great actors and movie stars, it’s hard to miss.

If The Crying Game could work, so could this movie, if only it had something original to say and/or said it in an interesting way.

This movie is weak, lazy, derivative, and insulting, and this puke has the onions to blame the audience.

Reality check, biatch!

Phobia doesn't just mean fear; but irrational fear... It kind of implies that "you" are a nutcase essentially / dellusional

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/phobia

>: an exaggerated usually inexplicable and illogical fear of a particular object, class of objects, or situation

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phobia

>A phobia is an anxiety disorder defined by a persistent and excessive fear of an object or situation.[1] Phobias typically result in a rapid onset of fear and are usually present for more than six months.[1]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_phobias

>The English suffixes -phobia, -phobic, -phobe (from Greek φόβος phobos, "fear") occur in technical usage in psychiatry to construct words that describe irrational, abnormal, unwarranted, persistent, or disabling fear as a mental disorder (e.g. agoraphobia), in chemistry to describe chemical aversions (e.g. hydrophobic), in biology to describe organisms that dislike certain conditions (e.g. acidophobia), and in medicine to describe hypersensitivity to a stimulus, usually sensory (e.g. photophobia). In common usage, they also form words that describe dislike or hatred of a particular thing or subject (e.g. homophobia). The suffix is antonymic to -phil-.

"Islamophobia"

It's not totally irrational to be wary of islam and its followers, to say the least, given their track record in terms of mass slaughter

It's Homofastidia, disgust of faggots, though generally we don't bother to give it a name as it is just normal. A perfectly natural reaction, a physiological reaction.
